Mārtiņš Jaunarajs

Mārtiņš Jaunarajs

Mārtiņš Jaunarajs is a chairman in AGroup and investment director of BaltCap Latvia Venture Capital Fund, a EUR 30 million fund with focus on expansion financing for small and medium size enterprises in Latvia. Mārtiņš joined BaltCap – the leading private equity investor in the Baltic States in 2010.

Today he is on the board of a number of BaltCap’s portfolio companies, taking on an active advisory role.

Earlier in his career, Mārtiņš held various positions in Latvian commercial banks. Most recently, Mārtiņš served as Senior Vice President and the Head of Capital Markets and Investment Banking division of Parex Bank. Before joining Parex Bank in 2001, Mārtiņš was the Head of Corporate Sales in the Financial Markets division of Hansabanka in Latvia.

Mārtiņš holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Latvia.


Boris Renski

Boris Renski

Boris is an experienced business executive with a proven track record of starting, growing and successfully exiting technology companies. As the first angel investor in AGroup, Boris was instrumental in spinning off the company from Robertson & Blums in 2008, assembling AGroup’s current management team and helping to close AGroup’s first venture round.

Today Boris serves as the EVP of Marketing and Alliances at Mirantis, an engineering company delivering custom cloud platforms. Boris takes active part in defining Mirantis’ vision and sales strategy. Boris further participates in Mirantis’ day-to-day operations involving management of key customer accounts and ecosystem of business partners.

Boris was also a founder and CEO of Selectosa Systems, a software outsourcing company, which was acquired in 2006. Earlier in his career, Boris held a variety of executive positions, including founder and VP of Business Development at R&K Consulting, one of the top Oracle JD Edwards distributors in Russia.

Boris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and Business Operations from Santa Clara University.


Alex Freedland

Alex Freedland

Alex is an experienced high-tech entrepreneur and investor, having spent more than 20 years starting and running companies. Currently, he is chairman and CEO at Silicon Valley-based Mirantis, Inc. – a software engineering company building custom cloud platforms, owner and board member at Ventra Employment, and director at Chempack.

 

Alex has successfully invested in, built, scaled, and exited several technology businesses. He has been active in early-stage investing and venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and serves as a board member for several companies. He is also a member of the Band of Angels, the Silicon Valley’s oldest seed funding organization.

He began his career in a range of engineering and management positions at several companies, including ADP, IBM, KLA-Tencor, Netscape, and Tektronix. Before Mirantis, he co-founded RSI Group, one of the world’s principal providers of receivables management software. The company was acquired by London Bridge Software (now part of FICA Corporation).

Alex has a Masters degree in Computer Engineering from Santa Clara University.


Jim Dvorkin

Jim Dvorkin

Jim Dvorkin has broad experience in building companies in software as a service (SaaS) technology space, including customer relationship management and call center technologies.

Presently, as CTO of Five9 – a market-leading SaaS call center solutions company, Jim manages software development, data center operations, customer support and implementation. Previously, Jim started the call center initiative as VP of Technology for Salesforce.com – a leading SaaS customer relationship management company. Jim has also served as CTO at EchoPass, provider of hosted call center solutions, and as VP of Technology at HipBone, a hosted web collaboration company.

His extensive experience also includes co-founding one of the first on-demand call center companies – WhitePJ (acquired by Contactual), as well as co-founding Next Age Technologies, leading provider of workforce management solutions (acquired by Genesys). Jim also held several key engineering roles at Genesys – a pioneer and worldwide leader of delivering complex premise-based call center solutions.

Jim holds a Masters degree of Economics and Computer Science from State University of Lithuania, and fluently speaks Russian, Lithuanian and English.


Maris Ozolins

Maris Ozolins

Maris Ozolins is presently the Director of Cards at Tieto Corporation, where he is responsible for the payment cards software business with 100 customers in more than 30 countries worldwide. He was also the Head of Cards and before that, Managing Director and co-owner, of Konts SIA, a start-up specializing in the development of payment cards data processing software, which was acquired by Tieto Corporation in 1998.

Between his experience at Konts SIA and Tieto Corporation, Maris served from 2006 to 2007 as CEO of Lattelecom Technology, a Latvian IT company.

Earlier in his career, Maris was the Marketing Director for BankServiss (today known as First Data), where he managed the project of issuing the very first Latvian international MasterCard accounts. Prior to that, he was Project Manager for the core banking conversion project at Baltic Technology Group.

Maris Ozolins holds a diploma in Electrical Engineering from Riga Technical University and MBA from Riga Business School. His extracurricular activity includes lecturing in Riga Business School’s MBA program on E-business Solutions.
